about

Chin Injeti was a founding member of the groundbreaking Toronto group Bass is Base. During their incredible success the young trio toured with the likes of James Brown, the Fugees, Roots, Nelly Furtado and A Tribe Called Quest. Rave reviews and radio play followed along with awards from Muchmusic, the Junos and SOCAN.

Chin later moved to Vancouver and continue to thrive as an artist, songwriter and producer. He soon partnered with L.A-based DJ Khalil and the two began producing and writing for the likes of Dr. Dre, Nas, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes and Clipse, plus such Canadian artists as Esthero, Hot Hot Heat, Bedouin Soundclash, the Canadian Tenors and Zaki Ibrahim.

In early 2009 he began to record a solo project at his small recording studio in downtown Vancouver . The record was entitled D’Tach but because of his busy schedule would not be released until the spring of 2010 on Sparks Music.

With trips to L.A. becoming more frequent it wasn’t long before Chin saw himself and DJ Khalil producing tracks for two of hip-hop’s biggest superstars. They ended up working their magic on “Could’ve Been You” by 50 Cent which featured R. Kelly and on the song “Fear” from fellow Canadian sensation Drake!

2010 served as a huge year for Chin highlighted by his work on Eminem’s multi- platinum selling album ‘Recovery.' CHIN wrote and performed on two tracks “Almost Famous” and “Talkin’ 2 Myself”. The album went on to sell nine million copies worldwide and was awarded ‘Best Rap Album' at the 2011 Grammy Awards. For his participation Chin would take home his very first Grammy.

Chin not only created outstanding music that year but also gave back through a charitable event when asked to participate in the Young Artists for Haiti project that saw many of Canada’s most talented stars get together to record “‘Wavin’ Flag” by K’naan.

As we entered into the early part of 2013 Chin continues to work with some of the biggest pop stars in the world. He will once again partake in this year’s Grammy celebrations for his work on the new Pink album "The Truth About Love" which hit the top of the Billboard charts in late 2012 . Pink has been nominated for "Best Vocal Performance" at this years' upcoming show in February. For his part Chin has co- production and co-writing credits for the song "Here Comes the Weekend".
